FRANKLIN, Wis. - 

  • Eight-year-olds were on the basketball court at the Midwest Orthopedic Performance Center at Ballpark Commons in Franklin when parents there to watch got into a physical fight on Sunday, April 12.


  • A witness said hundreds of kids and parents were inside when the fight broke out. More than a dozen people called 911. Franklin police said callers reported gunshots being fired inside. Officers never found a gun, but it was a chaotic scene that ended with a 36-year-old Illinois man in custody, accused of arming himself with a bat.

  • An eyewitness told FOX59/CBS4 that the brawl took place during a 7v7 football tournament being held at Grand Park in Indiana. The brawl reportedly started with an argument between the coaches of two 14 and 15U teams, but officials did not specify.

  • A parent who witnessed the fight told Arizona’s Family that it wasn’t a rare occurrence. “It’s not the first time. Most of the time, it’s usually just the parents to be honest. With the older kids... like my son is not in high school... but the high school kids are the ones that usually fight on the 7-on-7 tournaments,” he said.

  • A youth baseball tournament in Winter Haven turned violent over the weekend, leaving a 21-year-old umpire hospitalized and three people under arrest after what police describe as a bench-clearing brawl. The fight broke out Saturday evening at the Chain O' Lakes Park Complex during a youth travel baseball tournament. Winter Haven police say the confrontation started after the young umpire issued a verbal warning to a coach.

  • Fight involving multiple teens breaks out during youth football league game in Ormond sports park


  • Fight. Officers responded to a city sports park after multiple 911 calls came in regarding a fight caused over a referee's call during a youth football league game.The incident report states: "The scene was chaotic, countless juveniles and adults were in the area, and information was being provided from countless sources." Police report the referee's call led to a physical fight between the two teams of 15-year-old boys. Then one juvenile, who was not part of either football team, got involved and threatened one of the coaches with bodily harm.
  • The coach wished to pursue charges and provided a statement to police.

  • "As the two coaches left the facility, one coach allegedly made a threat to the other. The police were called and responded to the Sportsplex on behalf of an altercation. The subject making the threat was detained by police on the Sportsplex parking lot and taken into custody," police continued.
